Tuberculosis
Tuberculosis is a contagious infection caused by the bacteria Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which mainly affects the lungs but can also spread to other parts of the body. It spreads through the air when an infected person coughs or sneezes. Common symptoms include a persistent cough, chest pain, fever, night sweats, weight loss & coughing up blood. TB can be serious if not treated, but it is curable with a proper course of antibiotics taken over several months. Early diagnosis stops the spread of the disease.
