Smoking-Related Lung Diseases
Smoking-related lung diseases are illnesses caused or worsened by smoking. The harmful chemicals in cigarette smoke damage the airways and lung tissues over time. This can lead to serious conditions like chronic bronchitis, emphysema, chronic COPD, and lung cancer. Common symptoms include coughing, shortness of breath, chest discomfort & wheezing. Continued smoking can make these diseases worse, but quitting smoking and getting medical help can improve symptoms, slow down damage & lead to better lung health.
