Pleural Tapping

A medical procedure that is used to remove excess fluid from the space between the lungs and the chest wall, known as the pleural space. This fluid buildup can cause symptoms like chest pain, cough and difficulty breathing. During the procedure, a needle is gently inserted through the chest to drain the fluid, which can then be tested to find the cause of the problem such as infection, cancer or other diseases. Pleural tapping helps to relieve the symptoms and provides important information for proper diagnosis and treatment.
