Chest Congestion
A feeling of tightness or heaviness in the chest, often caused by the buildup of mucus in the lungs and airways. It is commonly seen in respiratory infections like common cold, bronchitis or pneumonia. Symptoms may include coughing, difficulty breathing, chest discomfort and a rattling sound when breathing. Chest congestion can make it harder to breathe and may cause fatigue. Treatment usually involves medications to loosen the mucus, steam inhalation, rest and staying well-hydrated to help clear the lungs and improve breathing.
