Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy is a medical procedure that allows the doctors to look inside the airways and lungs. It is done by using a thin, flexible tube called a bronchoscope, which has a light and a camera at the end. The tube is gently inserted through the nose or mouth and down into the lungs. This helps the doctor see if there are any problems like infections, blockages, tumors or bleeding. Sometimes, small tissue samples (biopsies) or mucus can be taken for testing during the procedure.
