Bronchitis

Bronchitis happens when the tubes that carry air to and from your lungs get swollen or irritated. This can cause a constant cough, mucus (phlegm), chest discomfort, tiredness and sometimes a fever. It may be caused due to viruses, bacteria or things like smoke and pollution. There are two types: acute (short-term) and chronic (long-term, often due to smoking). Most people get better with rest, drinking plenty of fluids and using medicine if needed. Staying away from smoke and other irritants can help prevent and manage bronchitis.
