A chronic cough is a persistent cough that lasts for more than 8 weeks in adults. It can be dry or produce mucus and is often a sign of an underlying health issue. Common causes include asthma, allergies, acid reflux, chronic bronchitis or infections. Sometimes, it may also be related to more serious conditions like tuberculosis or lung cancer.
