Wheezing

A high-pitched sound that is made while breathing, most noticeable when exhaling. It happens when the airways become narrowed or inflamed, making it harder for air to pass through. Common causes of wheezing include asthma, bronchitis, allergies & respiratory infections. In some cases, it can also be a sign of a serious condition like COPD. Wheezing may be accompanied by shortness of breath or coughing. Treatment depends on the cause & may include inhalers, medicines to reduce inflammation or bronchodilators to open up the airways.
