Sore Throat

A common condition that causes pain, scratchiness or irritation in the throat, especially when swallowing. It is often a symptom of a viral or bacterial infection, such as the common cold or flu. Other causes may include allergies, dry air, smoking or acid reflux. Along with throat discomfort, a person may also experience a hoarse voice, swollen glands or fever. Most sore throats go away on their own, but some may require medical treatment. Staying hydrated, resting & using throat-soothing remedies can help relieve the symptoms.
